5Over 60 Wrestlers, and over 10 modes of play !Feb 13, 1999

WCW vs. the World is one heck of a fun wrestling game, unlike the other WCW games this one has different moves for all the wrestlers, which is good! If ya like WCW you'll purchase this game no questions asked, it's a great party game play 8 players, or even create your own WCW Belts and defend them against friends !!!

5WCW vs. The world Rocks.Sep 01, 2000

WCW vs. The World rocks. Sure you can't go backstage but you can go outside the ring. One thing I really liked about WCW vs. The World is that Reversals are easy to do. I once the CPU reversted and than I reversed his move and than he reversated my move again. I'd buy it right away.

3too limited and kind of dullNov 15, 2011

This is not one of the best wrestling games I've ever played, mostly because I think it's too limited. At first I was a bit disappointed by the roster, because I didn't know that so many of the guys were "made up," but I managed to get over that (although I would still rather that THQ had included more of the "real" guys, even it meant not doing the grandiose-sounding "vs. the world" theme). A lot of the "fictional" guys actually look sort of cool in the ring, though most of their portraits (as well as those of most of the real-life guys) on the wrestler select screen look comical! In fact, I think most of the "made up" guys look better in the ring than most of the real ones (though all of them look rather like figures carved out of wood). Also, the belt stuff is pretty involved (you can create your own belts!), but in terms of the actual matches themselves, there just isn't enough there, at least not enough for me. The wrestlers really don't have all that many moves, at least not compared to most other wrestling games I've played. I think I've only ever managed to get a "special move" to work a time or two; I don't really know why. And, the matches are all one-on-one, which I REALLY don't understand. (All of that stuff involving belts, and there are no tag team matches or belts?) I know this is a PS1 game, but I'd think that more could have been done with it. I only have two other PS1 wrestling games besides this one, one of which is WCW Thunder, and right now, I'd have to say that I think Thunder is the best. This one is kind of dull, in my opinion.
