Great remastering!Jul 20, 2010
I was unaware of this record's Cirque du Soleil roots (I'm not a big fan of Cirque du Soleil), but wasn't disappointed at all with this mix of amazing Beatles songs. George Martin and son did an incredible remastering/mixing job, and I love that even the remaining Beatles were happy with the project's results.
I was expecting a simple collection of Beatles classics, but there is a beautifully executed blending and flow between the songs. It was a pleasant surprise.
I would recommend this record simply on the amazing remastering job (it sounds beautiful!), but there's no need just to rely on that. It's an interesting mix that I think any Beatles fan would enjoy.

The Greatest Swan Song in Recording HistoryJul 19, 2010
I was skeptical of this record when it first came out. I am a Beatles fanatic and I have enjoyed the Apple Records releases and the various rare recordings. But after time, I rarely listen to those as the original record recordings are so incredibly iconic. Rubber S, Abbey Rd, St. Pepper, White Album... all of these are burned into my subconsciousness and fooling around with them is the same as fooling around with childhood memories.

However, with Love, what Martin and son have achieved is nothing short of beautiful. They managed to turn these iconic songs into a kind of dream. It is as if I wandered into a sleep state and all of my subconscious memories have flooded into heightened sense of Beatles awesomeness. It is every thing I've loved about the original Beatles record amp'd up a few notches. The only song I don't care much for is Strawberry Fields as it is much like the other released novelty Beatles tunes and is inferior (though interesting and nice) to the recording that they released.

I love the juxtaposition of melodies throughout the record and I since Martin was the 5th Beatle, it robs none of the creative stream that originally gave us these works of art. Of all the recordings on the album, I would say that Hey Jude and While My Guitar Gently Weeps are reasons enough to purchase this wonderful wonderful addition to the Beatles Legacy.

The new version of While My Guitar features George Harrison in a rare studio recording playing it Acoustic and George Martin, the symphonic and producing genius behind the likes of Sgt. Pepper and Eleanor Rigby and every thing else amazing for the Beatles, has provided us with another heartbreakingly beautiful string arrangement as accompaniment.

If you are a true Beatles fan and you haven't heard this record, you are missing out. I could go on and on about its merits, but I'll let you discover them for yourself. It is awesome.

Having seen the Cirque show, this brings back lots of terrific memories of how much I enjoyed that production. But I also believe that this is a great album in its own right... as long as you're looking for one album that covers the entire Beatles oevre and are willing to live with just a few seconds worth of some of the songs.

Just when we thought nothing new could come our way from the Beatles, surprise!! Here it is! A wonderful re-mix of The Beatles best known and even some obscure greats. Hopefully THE Martins will take another crack at giving us fans another wonderful mix.

I have been listening to the Beatles since I was a small child. I own most of their studio albums and have listened to 'Rubber Soul' beyond countless times. So I saw this CD while cruising the net for a mono version of 'Rubber Soul' (which I've yet to find one reasonably priced) and ordered it.

I finally got the album, put it on my ipod, and I listened to it through some nice headphones: The harmonies of 'Because' left me speechless. Then, a sonic tsunami (intro to 'Get Back') hit me: I can honestly say I've never felt completely awestruck by music before; I've found music to be beautiful and/or completely awesome, but the mixing job on this album just blew me away like no other. 'Strawberry Fields' on through 'Octopus's Garden' was an intense look back on Beatle's psychedelia. 'A Day In The Life' and 'Hey Jude' are wonderfully remastered.

I've seen the negative reviews saying that this album is either blasphemy or anyone with a computer could have remixed these songs. On blasphemy: This album took me beyond any music I've heard before (conceptually and sonically). I don't consider that blasphemy, it's just creating a new sound with beautiful songs. On the remixing job: hahaha this one cracked me up...buy a pair of nice headphones or a decent stereo system, listen to this album on either, and then tell me anyone could have remixed these songs on a home-computer.

In the end, this is a desert island album for me.
